Christina Guevara
Spectrum Academy Director
North Salt Lake, Utah
Hello!
I am excited to be in my 16th year working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My first introduction to autism was in one of my undergraduate classes at UCLA and I have been grateful to have served this wonderful community ever since. In California, I worked as a Behavior Interventionist and Case Supervisor for Working With Autism, Inc. In 2007, my family and I moved to Utah and I worked as a teacher at Spectrum Academy. I am currently in my 11th year at Spectrum and I love what I do. I have had the privilege of working as a teacher, behavior specialist, teacher mentor, and administrator. My time at Spectrum has afforded me the opportunities to work closely with other educators in the state of Utah. I serve on the Utah Special Education Advisory Panel and on the Charter School Special Education Directors Board.
I hold a bachelor's in Psychology, a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Special Education - Mild/Moderate, and I am about to begin my research for my doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction.
My specializations are special education, differentiation, visual supports, social skills instruction, and behavior interventions.
